hey guys, far and wide,
I am mailing to all the people who gave me their address, whether in Singapore, Canada, or any other parts of the world. As some of u may know, I reached Canada exactly 1 week ago. From that time till now, loads (and I mean loads) of things happened. So, I'll start off with a few things that happened in Singapore. As some of u who have seen, or heard, I grew my hair quite long in Canada(for my standards, I know in Canada many boys grow their hair long). When I reached Singapore, I refused to cut my hair till the week that we were gonna leave. Even though I didn't manage to visit my old friends in Singapore, I met most, if not all, of my family members. So, when we left Singapore, the 6(dad, mum, 4 other kids) and me, we sat on one of the longest ride in an airplane ever! WE WERE CROSSING HALF OF THE GLOBE!
WE stopped at Hong Kong to Xchange flights, and then when on the 16hr ride to Canada. The ride there was not at all pleasant. The 1st flight, the one to Hong Kong, had no games, only movies. I thought that that was the worst airplane ride. But how was I wrong! The one to Canada had games alright, it even could be one of the best, if not of the incidents that followed. As the flight to Canada from Hong Kong took off, I waited impatiently for the games to be made available. Once I could play the games, I played a game called 'Asteroids'. I played for about 5 minutes or so, and decided not to play it. As I pressed the quit button, the whole screen froze! And I was left with nothing. And soon enough, 2 other screens froze. My younger brother's, and my first younger sis(oldest of my younger sisters). With nothing to do, I went to sleep. Then, I was awakened by the air stewardess saying "hello, hello!" to wake me up. She wanted to serve me the lunch for the day. One thing about airplane food, I can honestly tell you, is yucky! No matter how much my bro likes it. (don't get angry, basil!). I ordered apple juice, as coke and sprite would give loads of air, and u wouldn't want that on an airplane, trust me! Halfway through my food, I tried pressing the buttons on the remote to try and un-freeze the screen, but to no avail. so I made my remote snap back. Unfortunately, it knocked my apple juice over and the juice spilled onto my pants! I tried to clean it off by using the provided blanket too soak it all up. I went back to sleep again afterwards. Suddenly, someone shook me and woke me up, again! My bro.(Fortunately, my pants dried up a fair bit.) He said that he fixed my sis' screen by meddling with the buttons on the remote.(Lucky her!) How was it that I could not do it! Unconvinced, I checked my sister's screen. It was true! So I tried to press the buttons on my remote, after touching it I did not want to do it. Do u know why? It was sticky, thanks to the apple juice! Since my screen was frozen, I watched and played games on my sister's screen. After getting bored, I decided to sleep. Then, I woke up again, checking my watch. That was how it went. Sleep, awake, check watch(advancing an hour each time I woke up). Finally we reached Canada.
It looked the same from when I first reached Canada a year ago. As we got out, a porter asked whether he could help us carry the luggage(plural). He wanted a high tip for it. My father wanted it lower, so the porter asked another porter to help us. We had quite a trouble getting a cab too. We needed 2 cabs to fit all of us and the humongous luggage(plural), containing the many things we bought in Singapore. Once we reached home, I immediately bathed, and went to sleep. The next few days were dedicated to getting the keys from our new house in Oakville. We tested out everything, and even had a baby wild rabbit as a visitor in our backyard. We also met our neighbours in the playground, which is in between our house and theirs. Both of us live next to a playground. We went to Canadian tire today to get stuff for our new house. And later in the evening, we went to church and meet my fellow altar servers at St Bonaventure Catholic school.( I serve on Saturdays, at 5pm). While I was serving,I told a friar serving there, friar Rick that we were leaving to Oakville. Another friar, an exceptionately friendly one, friar David, already knew that we were leaving. As we came to the end of mass, friar Rick, who was leading today's mass, told everyone that we were leaving, and asked my bro, my 1st sis, and I to come up.(we were the only ones out of the 5 old enough to serve, and yes, Canada allows girls to serve, unlike Singapore) And as I came down to my chair, I felt kind of giddy from all these incidents that happened. It was quite embarrassing to tell u the truth. And so as the mass ended, we got out of our albs(altar servers' robes). We spoke to friar David for a while, who was shocked to hear that we were not leaving this Friday, as he claims to have heard.
Yes, we are still gonna live in Toronto until, at the very best, the next Monday after the week that school starts. Gonna be hard for us to go up and down from Toronto all the way to Oakville and back again every morning and afternoon. As we got home, I went to my laptop, and started typing this message which I think took me 45 minutes to think and write.
I thank all of u to help me unload all these thoughts!
